Zaktool Handcuff Keys
« on: October 24, 2009, 10:55:58 PM »

Enforce-logic imports a good range of handcuff keys from Zaktool in the USA. Our prices are also the keenest in the UK...

I have looked at you website, you have a very good range, but who would want a pink handcuff key?  Daft question really...

You have a great choice!

I have had the ZT12C Carbon Fibre Handcuff Key for some years now.  It has served me very well.

I like the way I can just clip it on my body armour where it is handy and thus avoid the officer safety issue of having it attached to a retractable cheese wire!

The small key issued with the cuffs is useless, you really need a longer key, it is much easier in a strug ;Dgle.

Completely agree, but like I say in the other handcuff key topic - always keep the issue one for emergencies / as a backup.  I have one tied in my laces for emergencies and one on my keyring to keep handy encase I lose my long one.

The ZT17 Concealable Handcuff Key on Enforce Logic is great for an emergency key, it clips in behind the press studs of your belt keeper:  http://www.enforce-logic.co.uk/handcuff_keys.php

I saw that ZT17, that's a good idea.  It's always handy to have a spare.  Someone always borrows your key and then swear they gave it back, yeah right....

Yep got one now, it's great and fits into the belt keepers I already have just fine!

The ZT57 has a window breaker tip, spring loaded, just a flick of the finger and the car window is no more...

Is the tip on it fine thin enough to double lock your cuffs?

We've got an entire team on my borough who ALL (just under 30 coppers) ordered one in a job lot from somewhere... some young probie (not me!) had to do a car window in and the batons just kept getting repelled (user error?), he just whips out his little thingy (I can only vouch for the key) and pops the window in ... one suicide attempt averted... would have taken ages to die anyway... the car was a '05 plate Vauxhall with Catalytic Converter - red face from the driver when this was pointed out...  ;D

I just spoke to my friend who owns one of these, he says it is NOT thin enough for double-locking, he uses it as a spare key and keeps it in his Met-Vest... he's used it on a few car windows and says it works a treat but can't be used as your main key since its tip is designed for windows and not the double-locking pins...

Hi Admin, after "bigging" up the ZakTool Key I've decided I'd get one for myself.

Interestingly, we've had an increase of TFMV on our patch in the last few weeks with some scrotes going through hotel carparks and doing windows in... I can see why this type of thing is restricted... though I think they're using spark-plugs (or spark-plug enamel)...

Cheers for the info!

I've got a window breaker on the end of my pen although I haven't tried it on a window!

I've thought about where i could try it, but I can't think of a window I can break that doesn't involve being naughty  ;D
