Surrey Trialling Tasers?
« on: April 09, 2010, 06:42:07 PM »
I hear Surrey are deploying Tasers on a trial basis, being carried by all response officers....Anyone confirm?

At least they had a plan to roll them out. There is no danger of that happening in my force!

Likewise with mine.

Got covered with CS this week. The stuff is a disgrace and only makes the job of controlling people harder IMO. I truely think it should be binned.

That is always a problem with the stuff, invariably the good guys get a load too, and then the bad guys love it!!!!  Doesn't help to make us look 'in control'......

Your still using CS. We went over to Captor some time ago and although it is still not 100% it is a whole lot better than the contamination issues you get with CS.

I believe it's a pepper based alternative to CS.  Correct me if I'm wrong anyone!  :)

It is indeed. Its a synthetic pepper spray. Its supposed to cause a lot less cross contamination than CS apparently.

We use PAVA which is again synthetic pepper spray. It still effects officers but mainly due to 'operator error' rather than large scale cross contamination.

Try using CS on squaddies they tend to laugh at you while they carry on fighting. It is easy to train for the effects of CS. Police forces just tend not to employ the kind of training required.
